CYMER COMPUTER CLUBHOUSE AT MISSION VALLEY YMCA
The new Cymer Computer Clubhouse at Mission Valley YMCA will serve as an after-school outlet where high school students can tap into their passions and develop skills in a learning environment outfitted with high-tech tools for mixing and editing music, developing video projects, creating photo art, and more.
The Cymer Computer Clubhouse features professional-quality equipment provided by Cymer including a total of 18 computers — HP desktops and Apple iMacs loaded with the latest photo and video editing, in addition to music studio software — digital video equipment, and a small music recording studio.
The project is sponsored by Cymer, Inc., the world's leading supplier of light sources used by chip makers to create advanced semiconductor chips. The program is part of the Intel Computer Clubhouse Network which began as a partnership with the MIT Media Lab in the Boston Museum of Science and is now an international network. Computer Clubhouses provide a safe, out-of-school learning opportunity for 25,000 students annually from under-resourced communities in 20 different countries around the world.
The clubhouse is the first of its kind in San Diego, and is part of our newly completed 22,000-square-foot capital improvement project.
