JOINING INFORMATION
Our Joiner’s Fee is used to provide major repairs and equipment replacement. This fee is payable when you join, in addition to your first month’s dues. There is no Joiner’s Fee for student, youth, or teen memberships. Expired or cancelled memberships greater than 30 days are subject to repayment of the Joiner's Fee to renew membership. Joiner’s Fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Bank Draft Membership. Upon joining, payment of the first month's dues is required. With your authorization, an automatic monthly withdrawal will begin the following month of membership from either your checking, Visa, Mastercard, American Express, or Discover account. This is an ongoing deduction that remains in effect until cancelled in writing at least 15 days prior to your draft date. Payment of fees must be kept current or membership will be subject to cancellation. Closing your bank account or cancelling your credit card will result in additional fees. Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
Annual payments are available for all memberships if you are unable to join on the Bank Draft plan. Fees are equivalent to 12 monthly payments on the Bank Draft system. Renewal of Annual Memberships must be completed within 30 days of the expiration date or will be subject to repayment of the Joiner’s Fee. Membership fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.

Introduce your friends and family to the YMCA! As a YMCA member you may bring guests to the Y under the following guidelines: • Guest fee is $6.00 per visit. (Members receive three free guest passes per year - NO CARRYOVERS).
• Members must accompany their guests. • Guest must be checked in and sign a waiver at the Welcome Center. • All guests must follow Mission Valley YMCA policies and procedures. • Guest must present photo I.D.

A.W.A.Y. POLICY
The YMCA of San Diego County endorses the nationwide YMCA visiting member program, “AWAY . . . Always Welcome at YMCAs” and welcomes YMCA members outside of San Diego County identified by the “AWAY” printed on their membership card. Visiting “AWAY” members are permitted to use facilities and participate in programs under the same fee structure as our own members are charged.
Membership in a YMCA branch in San Diego County will be recognized in another branch within the County in the following manner: • Facility - participate at one-half the daily guest rate. • Programs - participate at the member rate.
When visiting outside of San Diego County, please contact that YMCA for their AWAY prices and policies.
GIFT CERTIFICATES
Gift certificates for YMCA membership and programs are available for purchase at any time. No value limits. Gift certificates are transferable if necessary. No refunds.
Y-VOUCHER/REFUND POLICY
The purpose of the below policies is to allow the YMCA to maintain quality programs and proper class ratios. At the same time, we want to give our members and participants flexibility. Certain special interest programs and events are not applicable.
Cancellations If you request to cancel your enrollment in a program, 10 or more days prior to the start of the session/first day, you will receive a full Y-Voucher.
If you request to cancel your enrollment in a program less than 10 days prior to the start of the session/first day, you will receive a Y-Voucher minus a $5 service charge.
Cancellations need to be submitted during the session enrolled in order to be considered for a prorated Y-Voucher. Requests submitted after the end of the session will not be accepted. Y-Vouchers are NOT given for missed or sick days and are not guaranteed.
Transfers A request to transfer between classes in the same program needs to be done 10 days prior (14 days prior for camp) to the start of the session. All transfers are subject to availability and no transfers are guaranteed.
Y-Vouchers Y-Vouchers expire six months from the date of issue. Y-Vouchers are transferable to another member of your family or a friend. Y-Vouchers are applicable towards any Mission Valley YMCA Programs and are not redeemable for cash.
Refunds If the YMCA cancels a camp/program, we will give you the option to accept a full Y-Voucher, transfer, or refund. No refunds or Y-Vouchers are given for Joiners Fees, Gift Certificates or Memberships. Certain Special Interest Programs & Events are not applicable.
