• Set patient goals (including goal weights for children and adolescents, but not for adults). • Address weight-related issues, while emphasizing healthy state over a healthy weight. • Develop meal plans based upon current food intake and moving toward improvement. • Address body image and psychological issues. • Apply psychological therapy techniques as part of nutrition counseling. • Involve parents in the treatment of children and adolescents. • Engage patients in recovery based upon the patient’s values and goals. • Educate patients about consequences of EDs.
• Adjust treatment approach based on the individual and their circumstances. Te therapeutic delivery of nutrition care demands that the RDN possess the aptitude to combine tech-
