This unit looks at some aspects of human rights law, and provides an opportunity to revise many of the concepts and vocabulary items already used in the book. It contains some short reading texts on aspects of human rights, a longer reading text which examines the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child, and extracts from a report on research into equal opportunities in the work place. Some new vocabulary is introduced, particularly in relation to the protection of human rights, but much of it follows on naturally from earlier units.
