It is important that students are familiar with the terminology from this lesson and are reasonably comfortable giving a definition.
For this activity, put students in pairs. To model the activity, work with another student. Visually present a phrase from Exercise A or Exercise D, and ask the student to give a definition without looking at their notes or the Course Book. Then read out the definition so the student can hear if it is correct or not. Then swap roles, and continue with another phrase.
After one turn each, read out a definition of a phrase, and invite the student to guess what the phrase is. If the student guesses correctly, tell them they are correct. If they don’t guess correctly, keep eliciting until you get an answer.
Give students some time to practise in pairs, and monitor pronunciation, correcting where necessary.
