Procedure Preliminary phases Prepare a 25% solution of Andean QD Ultra in deionised water under cupboard. Mix phase B ingredients until clear solution. Add phase D (Veegum HV to water) and heat to 80˚C while homogenising with turbine and blades. At this temperature homogenise for 10’ and then start to cool to room temperature while mixing with blades. Mix phase E ingredients until clear solution.
Addition scheme In main mixer add phase A ingredients and mix until clear solution after each addition. Then add phase A1 and homogenise for 5’, then heat the phase to 40˚C and at this temperature homogenise the phase for 5’. Add phase A2 and homogenise for 10’. Check homogeneity. Add phase B, C and homogenise with turbine and blades under vacuum for 5’. Add phase C and homogenise with turbine and blades under vacuum for 5’. Add phase D and homogenise with turbine and blades under vacuum for 5’. Add phase E and mix with blades for 5’. Take a sample for analytical controls.

Procedure Place phase A into main vessel. Heat to approximately 60˚C while mixing. Be careful not to expose fragrant ingredients to prolonged periods of heating. Make sure mixture is homogenous and then immediately cool to obtain best results. Cooling rate should be rapid. Use a heat exchanger to obtain the smoothest balm consistency.
