Nevada - ICE Symposium heads to Vegas Last month an ICE delegation, led by Clarion Gaming Managing Director Stuart Hunter, met with stakeholders including Light & Wonder, Konami, IGT, Aristocrat, AGC and Everi in Las Vegas. The Las Vegas itinerary followed last month’s Casino Symposium staged in conjunction with the European Casino Association. Held at Les Ambassadeurs Casino in London, it comprised a series of C-Level discussions using the Open Space model, a format that’s driven by participants, resulting in an agenda which reflects the issues that are important to their businesses.

Reflecting on the US visit, Stuart Hunter said: “The Clarion team is heavily invested in the industry and as custodians of the world’s most cosmopolitan B2B gaming event, I believe it’s vital that we spend time listening to our customers and stakeholders based throughout the world. Our next ICE Symposium is taking place in Las Vegas on October 10, the opening day of G2E – and will be led by Ewa Bakun, Director of Industry Insight and Engagement.”

US - EBET halves workforce under new plan EBET has shared a profitability plan designed to reach a positive EBITDA run rate which will see the number of employees and contractors at the provider fall by approximately 54 per cent.

The measures taken to enhance the profitability of its newly acquired iGaming assets, as well as its existing eSports products, include a realignment of resources to escalate and expand its focus to iGaming and optimising the efficiency of marketing campaigns.

The revenue for the third quarter was approximately $18.2m with a gross profit of approximately $7.2m. As the company focuses on the profitability of the business, and continues to grow its EBIDTA positive run rate, it expects the revenue growth rate to decline in the short term, as it cuts unprofitable revenue.

US - Indian gaming revenues at all-time high The National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) released Fiscal Year 2021 (FY 2021) Gross Gaming Revenue (GGR) numbers totaling $39bn, an increase of 40 per cent over FY 2020 and a 13 per cent increase compared to FY 2019.

Chairman E. Sequoyah Simermeyer and Vice Chair Jeannie Hovland made the announcement live from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Gaming Revenue for FY 2021 is the highest in Indian gaming history, with all NIGC administrative regions showing a positive increase from FY 2020. This is Indian gaming’s largest increase, following its greatest decrease brought on by a record level of pandemic-related closures. With the pandemic still at the top of mind for tribes, Indian gaming continues to show its resiliency through innovative operational advancements and the steadfast leadership of tribal regulatory authorities.
