Overlooking a sea of payment providers at SiGMA Central Europe, Kate Lifshits, CEO of NOWPayments, explains why the broad shift to crypto payments is driven by real operational pain-points: bank fees, stuck payouts, and cross-border friction.
For many platforms, the payments experience has become a defining feature: how fast you take a deposit, how smoothly you process a payout, and how reliably you serve players around the world.

She cites how traditional banking and cardflows struggle to satisfy the global, fast-moving, low- latency demands of modern iGaming, the high bank fees, that cross-border transfers can be slow or blocked, and players increasingly expect immediate access to funds.
Crypto payments, Kate says, promise a route around many of those constraints.
