week release cycle and have recently enhanced our Direct Lottery Purchase product to allow Apple Pay to be used. Direct Lottery Purchase enables lottery players to purchase lottery tickets with their preferred payment method, removing the need to deposit into their e-wallet. Tis is an important feature in our lottery offering and accounts for a significant portion of digital lottery sales. As we always look to improve player experiences, we recognise the importance of having a player's preferred payment method readily available and worked with our customer to introduce Apple Pay to provide more choice that suits the player demographic.

Over the last five years, we have significantly grown our lottery promotional toolkit to better support OLG’s growth. We’ve recently added the ability to reward Free Tickets for specific games and define the number of boards that can be purchased with the Free Ticket. Tis feature further supports cross vertical opportunities and encourages players to spend their promotional rewards.

Bede Gaming powers OLG, one of the largest online lotteries in the world . What are the challenges and pain points of powering a platform which handles billions of transactions a year?

Our platform is built on a number of distributed event driven microservices backed by a core infrastructure which is highly available, secure and above all needs to handle high volumes of traffic including huge spikes of demand. Our challenge is in ensuring stability of service,

optimal performance and cost effectiveness. High Availability & Resilience

Te need for constant uptime is critical for any digital lottery platform. Downtime can have significant financial and reputational consequences. We leverage a suite of tools to ensure workloads remain operational and accessible 24/7, even in the face of failures.

Scalability & Performance

Te nature of traffic, especially during peak times like large jackpot draws, requires the platform to scale dynamically and quickly without sacrificing performance. Whilst we do pre-scale for known events we also take advantage of auto-scaling software to intelligently manage resources, automatically scaling up during high traffic and scaling down during quieter periods to optimise costs. We also focus on workload performance tuning, ensuring fast, responsive transactions even under heavy loads. By rightsizing workloads, we can prevent overprovisioning, ensuring the platform remains performance while controlling ever increasing cloud costs.

Data Consistency and Security

Handling billions of transactions annually means that data consistency, integrity, and security are top priorities. We implement robust data
