AGEM NOVEMBER 2024 RECAP

1 AGEM CEO, Daron Dorsey, opened the November member’s meeting talking about the recent US elections at federal and state levels. With former President Trump winning the 2024 election and what appears to be Republican control of both houses of Congress for the next two years, certain trade policies referenced during the campaign such as tariffs, changes to import/export practices and potential tax policy changes are likely to affect global gaming suppliers if enacted. Similarly, state and local elections in certain US markets saw gaming expansions approved while others were rejected.

2 Korbi Carrison, Event Vice President for RX, gave AGEM members a recap of the recent G2E event. While the post-show surveys for exhibitors and attendees have closed and the next stage will see verified visitor numbers being published, early estimates are that these figures track at or slightly above 2023 figures. Ms. Carrison shared that the 2024 event saw almost 17% more key buyers (who form the Platinum Club), international visitors numbered between 23-24%, with increased European visitors from the UK and Malta, increases from Mexico, Taiwan and Korea, and visitor growth from 17 different states within the US states.

3 James Kilsby of Vixio Regulatory Intelligence provided an update to members on the latest developments in Brazil. Regarding online gaming, there are 113 companies that applied for licences prior to the deadline for submissions in August this year, with the first set of licences set to be approved in late November with a proposed ‘go live’ date of January 1, 2025. A recent lawsuit, however, was brought and seeks to suspend the December 2023 law that

18 AGEM INDEX

The AGEM Index decreased by 34.39 points to 1,518.20 in October 2024, a 2.2 per cent decrease from the prior month. Compared to one year ago, the index rose 50.1 per cent, or 505.85 points. During the latest month, seven of the 12 AGEM Index companies reported stock price decreases, which resulted in seven negative contributions and five positive contributions. The largest negative contributor was Konami Corp., whose 3.1 per cent decrease in stock price led to a 29.86-point loss. Meanwhile, Agilysys saw its stock price decrease by 8.2 per cent, leading to a 6.10-point loss for the index. The largest positive contribution was sourced to Light & Wonder, whose 3.4 per cent increase in stock price resulted in a 7.45-point gain to the AGEM Index.

authorised iGaming and sports betting and received a public hearing before the Federal Supreme Court in early November.

4 Mexico is another Latin American region that continues to be of interest to AGEM members. Alfredo Lazcano, from the Lazcano Samano S.C. law firm based in Mexico, discussed the ongong legal challenges and election changes that are affecting the gaming landscape in Mexico. As a result, there has been little progress in the last three months following a recent presidential election. Claudia Sheinbaum, the first female president of Mexico, was sworn into office on October 1, 2024, and sweeping changes to laws surrounding the judiciary in Mexico resulted in courts suspending their activities. Te courts have recently resumed activities, so there is hope for positive outcomes on challenges to the reform decree in favour of gaming interests.

5 AGEM recently partnered with Global Gaming Women (GGW) at the beginning of November to host a half-day training programme for women at the Director level and below at AGEM member companies. Te event consisted of two 90- minute classes designed to boost communication skills. Te sessions were welcomed by attendees who deemed them as fun, insightful, and highly experiential. AGEM is hoping to hold more of these types of event in 2025.
