Koen, can you share how long you’ve been with Advantech and provide a brief overview of your career journey so far?
I began my career in the early 90s with a Dutch manufacturer of AWP machines, where I served as Marketing Manager and was involved in pioneering touch screen projects—then an emerging technology. In 2000, I joined 3M Touch Systems as Market Development Manager for the gaming industry, focusing on promoting touch solutions. In 2006, I moved to Densitron Gaming to support their gaming PC sales, and in 2007, I took part in a management buyout to establish Innocore Gaming. After Advantech acquired Innocore in 2011, I continued in various roles and now serve as the Vertical Industry Specialist for Gaming and Retail.
What unique qualities or strategies set Advantech apart in the European gaming industry?

What significant trends are you currently observing or predicting in the gaming market?
Technology adoption has been slow in recent years, but we’re now seeing rapid changes, especially with AI making its way into gaming. We’re involved in several large projects where AI is playing a key role, and we’re proud to support these with our advanced hardware and software solutions. Another key trend is sustainability. Advantech has been committed to green initiatives for many years, integrating environmental and sustainability policies across our operations. We continue to support this shift in the gaming sector with our low-power products, optimised thermal designs, and a comprehensive approach to reducing environmental impact.
Considering the market dynamics in Europe, what crucial advice would you offer to new operators or vendor entrants to the market?
Understand your market and your target audience. Te UK and European gaming landscapes are fragmented, with varying regulations and cultural differences. Compliance is crucial, so stay informed and prepared. Partnering with experienced local experts can make navigating these complexities much easier, which is where we can provide vital information and guidance.
What are your key ambitions and goals for Advantech in 2025?
