Wire NORTH AMERICA Penn to Open Hollywood Casino Morgantown


Penn National Gaming has said it will open Hollywood Casino Morgantown to the public on December 22, at noon, pending final regulatory approvals.


“We’re very excited to soon welcome patrons to this beautiful new property, where they’ll be able to experience premier gaming, dining and entertainment,” commented Marc Guastella, Vice President and General Manager for Hollywood Casino Morgantown.


Te Morgantown Category 4 casino represents Penn National’s fourth facility in Pennsylvania, joining Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course in Grantville, Hollywood Casino at Te Meadows in Washington and Hollywood Casino York, which opened in August.


Te approximately 80,000sq.ft facility will feature 750 of the latest slot machines and 30 table games, a climate-controlled outdoor gaming terrace, state-of-the-art Barstool Sportsbook, and three unique dining options.


At the Barstool Sportsbook, patrons will be able to enjoy sports from around the world on the jumbotron above the bar or on numerous high- definition televisions throughout the facility.


Te 150 seat full-service restaurant will offer a wide selection of food and beverage options, from steaks to classic pubfare, more than a dozen craft and domestic beers, hand-crafted

Te Canadian lottery has gone live with a selection of Blueprint’s best-known titles following an integration via Scientific Games’ OpenGaming platform. US Scientific Games sells lottery division to Brookfield


Scientific Games is to sell its global lottery business to Canadian investment company Brookfield for $6.05bn, a move that will help it cut debt and pivot to a gaming and digital content provider.


Te Las Vegas-based slot machine maker has been trimming down its business after ratcheting up $8.2bn in net debt. Last month, it sold its sports betting division, OpenBet, to Endeavor Group for $1.2bn in cash and stock. Te deal with the Brookfield Asset Management will consist of $5.83bn in cash and an additional payment of up to $225m based on meeting certain targets in 2022 and 2023.

Te development of Hollywood Casino Morgantown represents an overall investment of approximately $111m, including licence fees, and career opportunities are still available for the approximately 375 new jobs at the facility.


Nevada - MGM Resorts to sell The Mirage MGM Resorts International made the announcement that it will plan on selling the operations of The Mirage located on the Las Vegas Strip.


The resort opened up back in November 1989 and has one of the more iconic attractions in the volcano show every night. With over 3,000 rooms and nearly 100,000 square feet of gaming space, The Mirage was one of the first major resort casinos to open on the Strip.


MGM Resorts CEO, Bill Hornbuckle, said: “The Mirage is a world-class, iconic property with unique attractions that is ripe for continued investment and development. It will be the crown jewel in another operator’s portfolio, which is why we believe a sale makes strategic sense at this time.”


A new buyer and operator has not been identified yet and the process of the sale is still in the beginning stages.


US - Bally’s retail revenue reaches new high Bally’s financial results for Q3 saw retail casino revenue reach a record of $301.6m. This accounts to a net income of $49.4m versus $22.1m for the comparable period in 2020, whilst retail casinos EBITDAR equated to $106.5m versus $43.5m. Overall revenue was $314.8m, an increase of $198.2m, or 169.9 per cent, year over year. Net loss was $14.7m compared to net income of $6.7 million for the comparable period and adjusted EBITDA was $78m, an increase of $40m.


Lee Fenton, CEO, said: “North America interactive sales doubled from last quarter at $11.4m, with adjusted EBITDA of $5.5m, which was in line with our expectations,” continued Mr. Fenton. “Adjusted EBITDA for the company of $78.0m includes $11.4m of rent expense and $11.1m of corporate expense.”


Having completed the acquisition of Gamesys on October 1, Gamesys revenue was $278.6m – a record high on a constant currency basis – with net loss and adjusted EBITDA of $8.7m and $83.8m.


Virginia - Pointsbet awared sports licence PointsBet has announced that through an exclusive partnership agreement with Colonial Downs Group, and subsequent joint application for licensure, its wholly-owned subsidiary, PointsBet Virginia LLC, has been awarded a temporary supplier licence by the Virginia Lottery to offer online sports wagering in Virginia.
