August, 2019 ViscoTec Offers Automated Insert Potting
Kennesaw, GA — ViscoTec has intro- duced “automated insert potting,” also known as “insert bonding.” Threaded inserts are used in light- weight sandwich panels in the aero- space industry. After positioning, the bonding process is completed. These can then be used to screw the panels together or to fasten various compo-
nents. The number of such inserts in a satellite, for example, is several thousand. With ViscoTec dispensing tech-
nology, the filling process is mapped automatically. The dispensing is car- ried out with precision, which can save a significant amount of material. Material can also be supplied from
large containers, which lowers the cost of purchasing. Also, it eliminates the need for new specifications, as no changes are made to the process.
cializes in solving difficult applica- tion challenges. Solutions are created in close collaboration with customers and machine integrators.

Either a precisely defined quan-
