You already know how to talk about events in the present and events in the past in German. Now you are going to talk about the future.
(a) Read the following sentences about the future. Underline the two verbs in each sentence. The first one is done for you. 1. Ich werde morgen in die Schule gehen. 2. Wirst du mir bei den Hausaufgaben helfen? 3. Herbert wird dieses Jahr nach Spanien fahren. 4. Warum werden wir heute um 16 Uhr zuhause sein? 5. Morgen werdet ihr sehr müde sein, denn es ist schon spät. 6. Paloma und Bianca werden nächste Woche eine Fahrradtour machen.
(b) With a partner, work out the rule for talking about the future in German. To talk about the future in German you need the verb ______ + a verb in the infinitive which goes at the _______ of the sentence.
(c) ‘Werden’ (to become) is used to talk about the future in German. It is similar to ‘will’ or ‘going to’ in English. It is an irregular verb. Fill out the table.
