Stourhead Gardens


Westbury A gateway to the Salisbury Plains wilderness, steep river valleys and hidden thatched villages. Bratton Hill has spectacular views and an escarpment ideal for hang-gliders. Above the White Horse, Bratton Hill Fort is a typical Iron Age structure with an ancient 3000 BC long barrow burial mound.


Dilton Marsh and Brokerswood provide many walks and fishing ponds. Tere is a grand indoor Victorian swimming pool built in 1887 and the All Saints church in the town has the third loudest peal of bells in the world and an unusual faceless clock made in 1604.


Warminster An ancient town near to many scenic and historic attractions, with a boating lake, putting green, hard tennis courts and a children’s playing field.

Dewey Museum - with changing displays, geological specimens and monthly guest speakers.


Longleat Safari Park - events include the Last Night of the Proms, a balloon fiesta and annual horse trials.

Popular events include a street fair, carnival, half-marathon, flower show, and a bi-annual festival in addition to the usual fetes and attractions. Nearby villages host various events throughout the year. Details and dates of all events are available from the Visitor Centre.


Steeple Langford Its historic church contains a Purbeck marble Norman font and a ‘squint’ aperture in the wall. Picturesque Langford Lakes Nature Reserve is on the outskirts of the


village and nearby Hindon village is full of Georgian character and charm.

Te village has been home to celebrities including Sir Anthony


Westbury


Eden, Sir Cecil Beaton, Toyah Wilcox and Robert Fripp. Te popular hill climb at Gurston Down attracts hundreds of visitors. Nearby Stoke Farthing is ideally situated for the Wiltshire Cycleway.
