Castle Combe
Chippenham Tis town is near to some of the county’s greatest houses and historic villages. It has modern shopping centres, colourful Friday and Saturday street markets, and a Farmers Market on the second Tuesday of each month. Around the Market Place are the ancient Buttercross, St Andrew’s Church, St Mary Street and the 15th century Yelde Hall with the original Council Chamber. Events through the season include an internationally acclaimed Folk Festival and an annual charity marathon.
Fantastic travel and transport links make the town an ideal location for visiting Lacock, with year-round events and the famous Lacock Abbey, and the rest of Wiltshire and the Cotswolds. Walking and cycling paths connect to the North Wiltshire Rivers route (part of National Cycle Route 4).
Sandy Lane Voted the prettiest village in Wiltshire, rows of thatched stone cottages, and the local pub, bring “olde worlde” charm to this tiny hamlet.
Castle Combe Famously used in the film Dr Doolittle, this picturesque village has many wonderful buildings including the Dower House, the White Hart and the church. Extreme sports are offered at the Castle Combe Circuit. Nearby, Biddestone has attractive 17th and 18th century buildings, a duck pond, old pub, Saxon church, and green.
Calne Perfectly positioned for exploring the countryside and Wiltshire Downs, with antique shops, old coaching inns, the Friday market, a riverside walk, fine houses around Te Green and more.

LACOCK ABBEY, VILLAGE AND FOX TALBOT MUSEUM. There’s plenty to explore in Lacock; the 800 year old abbey turned family home has lots of stories to tell, including the invention of photography, and the grounds are full of flowers and changing family trails.
