Operating three former prisons, Shrewsbury Prison, Gloucester Prison and SHEPTON MALLET PRISON, there is one near you waiting to be explored. Offering a range of tours and events from guided tours where guests learn about the inner workings of a prison to ghost tours where guests wander the wings in the eerie darkness; educational tours, and corporate days to history days and seasonal events. To add to all of the things to do in and around Shepton Mallet, entertain the kids at
the HULLABALOO SOFT PLAY
CENTRE in Townsend Road, a place for the whole family to enjoy. Children 0-12 will have a great time whilst parents can relax in the cafe, read the paper, catch up on emails or shop online. There is a special padded pit for the very young with seating for parents, toddlers have an assault course amongst many other things to try, and for the older children the fun is endless.

Frome Cheese & Agricultural Show - one of the most important events in Somerset.
Longleat Forest, Safari Park & House - with animals, fun-packed family attractions and acres of Capability Brown landscaped grounds.
Nunney, Farleigh & Hungerford Picturesque villages, each with romantic castle ruins.
Beckington & Rode Te many features of historic interest include the fine parish churches.
All of Mendip’s breathtakingly stunning countryside is perfect for horse riding, picnicking, camping and cycling.
