In the harbour is a safe sandy beach, and just a mile inland is the pretty village of Paul. December the 23rd is Tom Bawcocks Eve, a lantern procession takes place and the prime dish is Star Gazy Pie (a fish, egg and potato pie with protruding fish heads).

An interesting place to visit is THE

LITTLE PICTURE GALLERY. Bright and friendly, run by Paul and Judy Joel the gallery is situated in Millpool Courtyard, with “Coast” gift shop and “Four Teas Café” close by. Works exhibited are a wide mix of representational, traditional and naïve, by mostly local artists.

Open daily to visitors, MOUSEHOLE

BIRD HOSPITAL accepts land or sea birds in need of care, to heal and return to the wild, or, where possible, to provide lifelong sanctuary if needed. Admission is free but donations are welcome. There is a small shop with local crafts and bird inspired gifts.

Further towards Land’s End is an area bordered by dramatic cliffs, and the sea with picturesque coves, beaches, and harbours.
