CORNISH MINING WORLD HERITAGE SITE
Nearby inland Cornish mining history includes:
Levant Mine & Beam Engine - restored after 60 years, seeing this old engine in action, with its evocative sounds and smells, offers a thrilling experience.
Geevor Tin Mines - an underground tour goes to the Mexico shaft. It is easy to imagine Victorian miners working in the dark and cramped conditions. Visitors can try panning for tin and can keep any they find.
Hard Rock Museum - tells the story of tin mining at Geevor.
Sennen Cove & Whitesands Bay A Blue Flag Beach popular with surfers, with a restaurant serving sea food that comes from its own trawler. Visit the Round House Gallery built on top of the Old Capstan.
Cot Valley & Porth Nanven Unspoilt, having a beach adorned with egg shaped granite boulders dating back to the Ice Age. In spring Cot Valley is a blaze of flowers displaying a pink thrift on the cliffs. Incredible sunsets are seen from the Brison Rocks.
Cape Cornwall Home to remains of the mining industry, with old mine entrances opening onto the shore and open shafts that are often unfenced. On the cliffs there is a golf course. Tis area is part of the Cornish Mining World Heritage Site.

St Just
Te first and last town in England. In the centre sits Plain-An-Gwarry, a medieval theatre, the Bank Square Gallery, shops, pubs, hotels, free car park, restaurants.
The small but impressive BANK SQUARE GALLERY is filled with
fabulous artwork from famed West Penwith artists, and is also the
studio of Nicholas, whose artwork captures the area’s outstanding natural beauty.
Pendeen Has a free carpark and there are several circular walks.
Kenidjack Valley
With the remains of an iron-age cliff fort, it rests on a headland with far reaching views.
Further north, toward St Ives is Cornwall’s industrial yesteryear. Engine houses clinging to the cliffs, old stone circles, the ‘coffin way’ walk, and much more, fire the imagination. Tis area is walking country and it has also been voted the ‘best drive’ in West Cornwall.

Botallack & Zennor Ancient mining villages presenting a step back in time, also offering iconic inns and food pubs, some themed on local history. Wayside Museum & Trewey Mill open up the social history of the area and exhibit a working watermill.
