Anna in the box. Anna’s shot was blocked but the Carrigaline girls couldn’t clear it as Molly got on the end of it and put the ball out of reach from the outstretched keeper. Back of the net and with a fist pump and team celebra- tion Molly had completed her hattrick and showed everyone
she was back
from injury as strong as ever. The whistle blew for
full time. 9-1 and a criti- cal three points to keep us second in the table. How could you pick two
stand out players from this match? Well it was tough but
the coaches knew
they couldn’t keep getting away with saying it was a great
team performance.
After much argument the decision was made. How could you not name Lor- na Cooper as one of the stand out players? Her work rate couldn’t go un- noticed and she showed just how much she has im- proved since the start of the season. Keep up the great work Lorna. Our second stand out player could go to no one else but our hattrick hero, Molly. Molly has worked hard to come back from injury over the last number of weeks and this has paid off. She has come back
stronger than ever. Fantas- tic work!! You should be proud of yourself. The Youghal girls look
like they will be a tough side to beat. Sitting second on the table there is still all to play for. The second half of the season could see the girls fighting for the league title.

Everton 3 – 4 Youghal
Utd Youghal United Under
15’s travelled to Togher last weekend to take on Everton, who operate in the league a division above us. Youghal started well and were
10 minutes when Josh Fitzgerald was put in on goal and took his chance well. Everton pegged
back
level after 20 minutes, and started to get on top now. The home crowd got two quick goals coming up to the half hour mark to put them 3-1 up. Everton started getting
physical and the game
turned dirty, with a few minutes to go to half time they had a man send off for kicking out just before half time. Into the second half,
ahead after
Leon Hennessy scored af- ter dancing around three defenders to make it 3-2, and Youghal started to take control, but missed some great chances. Youghal drew level mid-
way through the second half when Josh Fitzgerald got a great header from a corner to get his second and make it 3-3. Everton then got anoth-
er man sent off a few min- utes later, so with Youghal
went on the offensive with attack after attack, but couldn’t
down until the minute
break Everton second
of injury time.
Josh Fitzgerald got the ball and was fouled, but he got back up and hit a great shot straight over the keeper to get his hattrick, and a 4-3 win for Youghal. It was a great team per- formance today but
the
man of the match has to be Josh Fitzgerald, not just for his hattrick, but also for his work on and off the ball.
