Runners Remember Phil With Charity Run On Thursday 21 December
by JORDAN MCCARTHY
The 3rd annual renewal
of Phil’s Road Run takes centre stage in Youghal next week – and anticipa- tion is growing. On Thursday 21st
De-
cember at 7.30 pm, run- ners will head to the start for the 5km fun run, on a night which has proved to be very popular over the last two years. The event is held in memory of the late Phil Terry, who passed away in December of 2012, following illness. So

the Terry and
Healy families, involved in Phil’s Road Run, have raised in and around €55,000 for worthy caus-
es. All proceeds from this year’s fun run will help to improve the lives of four local children - Jamie Hennessy, Conor Kenne- ally, and Alex and Thom- as Lawlor. Registration is at
Youghal GAA Club, on the night, with entry cost- ing just €5. The run starts at the Terry family home, on Dermot Hurley Estate, and the finish line is in Youghal town centre. Participants are encour-
aged to wear their festive attire – Santa hats and fairy lights are always a hit! The event is designed to suit runners of all abil- ities, with the emphasis of the Christmastime run being on fun.

read; ‘‘I’m trying to learn more about the birthplace of my great-grandfather, who was from Mogeely. His name was Michael Kenneally b. 1879 (Mo- geely) d.1936 (Wolver- hampton, England). He also had a brother, Patrick, who owned a shop (likely
