Discover Antarctica, Patagonia and the Chilean Fjords


DAY 1: Pacific Jewel The expedition begins in the poetic city of Valparaíso, where you board MS Roald Amundsen.


DAY 2-3: Sailing South We make our way along the Pacific coast of Chile. The expedition team starts their lecture programme, preparing you for the adventures to come.


DAY 4: Cosmopolitan Castro The island city of Castro is known for its colour ful “palafitos”, wooden houses mounted on stilts along the shoreline. We also visit the Iglesia San Francisco, a UNESCO World Heritage Site as part of the Churches of Chiloé, and nearby Chiloé National Park.


DAY 5: Waters of Patagonia The expedition continues south through Patagonian waters and iconic Andean seascapes.

DAY 6: Isolated Village at the End of a Fjord Sailing through Patagonia, we visit the remote village of Puerto Edén in Bernardo O’Higgins National Park. This village is only accessible by water, and hosts excellent hiking trails. The 250 inhabitants include the 15 remaining members of the indigenous Kawéskar people.


DAY 7-8: Torres del Paine National Park See the lofty rock formations called “Torres del Paine” (Towers of Paine). Experience azure lakes, trails meandering through emerald for- ests, roaring rivers, and a radiant blue glacier.


DAY 9: Natural Paradise The Chilean fords´ deep channels and moun- tains plunging into icy seas leave a profound impression on visitors. This wild and remote area seems almost untouched by humans.


DAY 10-11: Cape Horn and Drake Passage We sail into open waters and land on Cape Horn if conditions allow. We continue across


Drake Passage, where two oceans meet, on our way to Antarctica.


DAY 12-16: White Continent The infinite white wilderness of Antarctica will fill you with unforgettable impressions. Kayak on untouched waters amidst icebergs, hike snowy paths to spectacular viewpoints, hear glaciers calve and penguins squabble.


DAY 17-18: Crossing the Drake Passage After four unforgettable days in Antarctica, we safely sail back across the infamous Drake Passage.


DAY 19: End of the Expedition Sadly, every good expedition must end. We arrive in Punta Arenas, where you connect to your flight to Santiago de Chile.


We offer one southbound (20 days) and one northbound (19 days) expedition. The northbound journey has an inversed itinerary and starts with an overnight in Valparaíso.
