San José City Tour San José is a beautiful city, full of contrasts. Despite its small size, the town offers a rich choice of museums, parks and an attractive legacy of architectural styles. Get a sense of the lifestyle of the capital and its people in centres like the Court District and the Congress, resi- dential areas like Rohrmoser, and the beautiful Metropolitan Park at La Sabana. You will visit some of San José’s most important landmarks, like Costa Rica’s National Theatre, a real jewel that holds one of the 10 most beautiful ceilings in the world. Your tour continues along local roads towards the Mercado Central (Central Market). There’s no better place to experience local cuisine than this bazaar, housed in a 120-year old structure full to the brim with typ- ical Costa Rican food and drink. The Mercado Central is an experience that no visitor should miss, and with a local guide by your side, you’ll learn about all the secrets of this San José treas- ure. The Central Market will be the last stop on this tour, finishing off with a chance to taste great Costa Rican coffee. Manuel Antonio National Park This tour is one of our pre or post-programmes, which allows you to stay even longer in Costa Rica after your sailing with Hurtigruten. Here is the itinerary for your post-programme tour:


DAY 1: Puntarenas/Quepos (Manuel Antonio) After disembarkation, a guided transfer will take you along the Pacific Ocean to the Manuel Antonio National Park (transfer time is approx. 2 hours). After arrival at the Parador Resort & Spa, spend time at your leisure or join an optional tour that can be booked and paid at the tour desk in the hotel. You have a choice of hiking, an adventure tour or ocean tours to explore Manuel Antonio National Park and surround- ings. The hotel is modelled after the traditional Spanish “paradores”. It offers all the expected amenities of a deluxe resort, with European refinement and a warm tropical touch. The hotel is surrounded by 12 acres of wildlife-rich tropical rainforest with panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean and Manuel Antonio. Lunch and dinner are on your own.


DAY 2: Parador Resort & Spa After breakfast, you can enjoy the amenities of the hotel or choose one of the optional tours, with certified professional bilingual guides who will ensure you have an unforgettable experi- ence. Lunch and dinner are on your own.


DAY 3: Quepos (Manuel Antonio)/San José In the early afternoon, a hotel shuttle bus will take you to San José. The rest of the day is at your leisure.
