DAY 1: “Jewel of the Pacific” We start our expedition in the colour ful and poetic city of Valparaíso.


DAY 2: Home of the Humboldt Penguin Sailing north, we arrive at Isla Chañaral and the Humboldt Penguin National Reserve.


DAY 3-5: Lectures at Sea Learn more about South America’s history, ancient civilisations and cultures.


DAY 6: Nazca Lines - An Archaeological Mystery Puerto General San Martin is the gateway to the mysterious Nazca Lines and geoglyphs, which were carved out between 500 B.C. and 500 A.D. They were not widely known until the 1930s when air-


craft spotted them while surveying for water.


DAY 7: Ancient History Lima’s history predates the colonial presence in Peru. Visit Caral, con- sidered the most ancient city in the Americas. See great works of art, archaeological sites, beaches, and experience exquisite cuisine.


DAY 8: Insights at Sea While sailing north along the coast of Peru, learn more about the west coast of South America.


DAY 9: Ancient Kingdom Join our excursion to the ancient Chimu kingdom (700–1400 A.D.) and its capital, Chan Chan (“sun- sun”), the largest pre-Hispanic mud brick citadel in the Americas and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.


DAY 10: Sailing North We continue north towards Ecuador.


DAY 11: Silver Island Isla de la Plata is a part of Parque National Machalilla and Ecuador’s only coastal national park. It is known as Ecuador’s other Galap- agos because of its abundance of marine birdlife.


DAY 12: Crossing the Equator We cross the Equator, where the “Equator baptism” awaits you.


DAY 13: Fisherman’s Paradise Puerto Piña is near the border of Colombia, largely populated by Afro-Colonial and indigenous Emberá people. Piñas Bay is Panama’s most incredible fishing spot for roosterfish, swordfish, billfish, tuna, marlin and more.

DAY 16: “Pura Vida” Puerto Limón, Costa Rica, is where our expedition ends.
