t’s hard to think back to a time when fried chicken wasn’t the large and established part of the British quick- service restaurant (QSR) market that it is today. From its introduction into the UK in the early 1970s, the founders and team at Favorite have been working in this specialised sector, not only witnessing the incredible expansion that has taken place but also being a major part of it. In the mid-1980s Favorite identifi ed that, in the UK, only US-based multi-national companies were offering fried chicken franchise opportunities. So they set out with the aim of opening a chain of professionally run fried chicken restaurants, offering food and service equal to the brand leader but at a fraction of the set-up cost. Favorite opened their fi rst seven stores in the summer of 1986 and is now proud to be one of the largest UK-owned chicken franchise chains.

Ethical franchising is key and Favorite are currently the only chicken QSR to be full members of the British Franchise Association, bound by their code of conduct, and they also comply with the European code of ethics on franchising. Many years of experience and knowledge have gone into developing the ingredients and products that make up the Favorite menu, and there is a total dedication to providing customers with quality and value.
