elivering advanced windscreen repairs to all commercial automotive sectors with outstanding repair results, Screen Rescue have not only
smashed their 24-month turnover target of £100,000, they also report an impressive YE14 gross profit margin of 97.7 per cent. Since 2012, franchisor Jaime Hilario has driven the growth of one of the most successful windscreen repair companies in the South East of England.
How is business going? We’ve had a fantastic second year and with a lot of hard work have taken the business to even greater heights. Our Year-end figures are solid with a net profit margin of 41.2 per cent and we’ve just been awarded all windscreen repairs to Europcar, National, Alamo and Inter Rent throughout East Anglia, including two major airport locations. We’re already working towards our 2015 year-end targets, so our objectives and vision remain clear.
Why do Screen Rescue specialise in advanced windscreen repairs? Working within the industry for a number of years, I saw a gap in the market for a dedicated windscreen repairs company. Two years ago, Screen Rescue was set up to meet the increasing demand of local, regional and national major fleet operators who prefer the significant savings they can make from the regular maintenance and repairs of their windscreens, which eliminates the cost of unnecessary windscreen replacements. “We ensure each
franchise owner has the best possible chance of success from the outset”
What other services do you provide? One of our key strategies was to deliver a business model with more than one revenue stream. Fulfilling demand, we offer a wide range of advanced windscreen repairs, a comprehensive glass scratch removal system with zero distortion, and a complete headlight restoration programme to all our commercial automotive sectors, major fleet operators and commercial insurance fleets. Collectively, our revenue streams and
proactive weekly, fortnightly and monthly fleet inspection programmes ensure we have a solid business foundation, which generates repeat volume business and guarantees sustainable turnover with decent profits and healthy margins vital for business growth.
How scalable is Screen Rescue? We’re fortunate that our business model is flexible and can be operated either as a man-and-a-van business or scaled up to meet the requirements of a full management franchise, where the
Ensuring each franchise owner has the best possible chance of success from the outset, our workshop and field-based practical NVQ-led training means they are fully competent in every aspect of the business. We also tailor ongoing support to meet each franchisee’s changing needs. Screen Rescue has many operational and financial tools available, which reliably remove most of the usual anxieties associated with running a business. At head office, we operate a sophisticated central billing system and aged debtor collection service, which ensures cashflow is good from day one and means our franchise partners are free from invoice queries and cash collection, enabling them to focus on the important things.
Who would make an ideal franchisee? Ideally, we’re looking for the most dynamic of franchise partners; those with any proven sales or business development backgrounds and a strong work ethic.
Where do you expect to see a franchise owner by year three? There is no reason why a model, hands- on franchise owner with one territory shouldn’t be operating with three liveried vehicles and two qualified technicians, whilst enjoying personal drawings well above industry average. And for some, the scalability won’t stop there. n
