New Franchise Introducing...
...New fast food franchise The Flamin’ Chicken. Managing director Carlos Sheibani explains his vision
John Denoon
“A
s a boy, I worked part time in KFC on Saturday and Sunday and full time in the school holidays. I really
enjoyed being in this environment; I found it exciting as I got to meet some great people and also had the benefit of being able to enjoy the food I was cooking and serving. For several years after school I studied automotive design, a passion that I still have, but the pull of KFC was too much. I decided that this really was something I wanted to look at in a more professional way. Fortunately, I did not listen to the people that tried to belittle the opportunities that fast food restaurants were offering. By the time I was 21, I was store manager, having gained invaluable experience that comes with working hard.
A quarter of century on in the business and that experience has taught me so much. The knowledge I gained was second to none and I’m now realizing my own dream – to grow The Flamin’ Chicken across the UK and on an international level. Our first franchise opened a couple of months ago and is doing fantastically well. We also have interest from the Middle East and will be
planning a visit to Dubai in the New Year. People ask me how The Flamin’ Chicken stands out from our competitors. I tell them to look at the store, sample the food and speak to our people.
“We want to work with like-minded people that are passionate about the business”
We source as much fresh produce as we can from suppliers and our chicken is second to none – it’s taken years to get our own recipes right. We have extensive knowledge of fried chicken, grilled chicken and charcoal-oven kebabs. The latter is packed with fresh salad and wrapped in freshly prepared naan bread that has been baked on the side of the oven.
The style of the outlets is stunning – lots of glass, wood and polished steel. We want to be recognized for the way we present ourselves within a community. The customer comes in and is greeted warmly, the menus
are easy to read and the atmosphere of the shop is light and fresh. When you enter The Flamin’ Chicken it always puts a smile on your face. As we grow the network we want to work with like-minded people that are passionate about the business and willing to put in the hard work. Work takes up most of our lives so why not do something you enjoy? For those who are interested, we offer high-quality advice and support with links to accredited finance, shopfitters and suppliers. Once up and running, we give continued support in all areas to make sure that the start-up is right, with nothing missed and no corners cut. My dream has always been to have a brand that is known for its quality and style, and through The Flamin’ Chicken I have fulfilled that. I’m proud of what I have achieved and what The Flamin’ Chicken is about to achieve. It the best journey ever.” n
