Different types of bonds Te bonding materials define the type of finished produce.

Vitrified V Te most common bond type (over 75%) used for producing surface grinding wheels and segments.
S Tis type of wheel does not produce as much heat as Vitrified. Used for grinding tools with a fine edge or where burning is to be avoided.
E Tis type is very pliable and are called elastic wheels. Tis is a thin wheel and is used to cut through pieces of hard steel.
R Normally this is thin and safe, wheels and can run at higher speeds.
Resinoid B Tese wheels are used where accuracy and finish are the main requirement such as in the surface grinding of carbide-tipped tools and dies.

Disc grinding (straight) wheel This type of grinding wheel has the grinding face on the periphery. Usually the grinding face is at right angles to the side in what is sometimes called an “A” face.
