oger, 48, who has been running his franchise covering Llanelli near Swansea for just over 11 years, has not looked back since leaving

employment. He looks after over 620 clients and has a client fee bank of over £300,000, which he manages, from his modern, welcoming shop with the help of his six members of staff . “I was employed as an accountant and growing tired of working for someone else, seeing the mistakes that were being made and knowing I could run my own business better and in a more profi table way,” said Roger. TaxAssist Accountants has been operating successfully for 21 years and was established when the founder realised that small businesses were often overcharged by the larger practices and under-serviced by the smaller ones, and that catering for this market would be ideal for a franchise network. Services off ered include year-end accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, vat returns, payroll and cash fl ow projections. I cannot stress how much I love my work now. It is a pleasure to wake up and sometimes walk to the offi ce. It really has exceeded all expectations!” And Roger’s future plans? “I would love

to retire at 55 with a business that is worth half a million pounds or more – seven years to go and I am on target! The dream is to open up a TaxAssist franchise in Australia and hopefully build it into a successful business just like the one I have now!”
