Gym franchise, Anytime Fitness, celebrates success at its national conference

INVESTMENT LEVEL: FROM £110,000 O

ver the past 12 months Anytime Fitness has gone from strength-to-strength and the evidence speaks for itself. The global brand

celebrated its 3000th club opening late in 2015, a huge milestone to reach – in just 13 years! Here in the UK, the brand has some exciting milestones of its own within reach for 2016. It has seen club openings rise by a huge 75 per cent and, with 180 franchisees covering over 300 locations already, it is no surprise that more than 35 per cent now own more than one territory. With 100 clubs trading, and another 60 expected by the end of the year, these fi gures will make the brand the biggest gym franchise, as well as one of the largest gym chains, in the UK. Anytime Fitness has refi ned its simple model, enabling most franchisees to be successful with a cash break even at only six months and a return on their initial investment within 18 months. It has a low staffi ng model, great returns, a recurring monthly direct debit income and a 35-strong support team to help each step of the way. The model also has technology that allows remote management of your

club therefore giving a great and fl exible work-life balance.

During the month of May over 300 of the Anytime Fitness UK franchisees, club staff and suppliers came together to celebrate the amazing results and growth of the Anytime Fitness family.

“Here in the UK, the brand has some exciting milestones of its own...”

The one thing that shone through during the conference was how the entire team had the members at the forefront of their minds. “The members love our clubs because not only are they convenient they also have a community club feel with a high-end fi nish, which sets the clubs aside from big box gyms,” said Brett Edwards, general manager at Anytime Fitness UK. “Once a member at Anytime Fitness you have access 24/7 to all 3,300 plus clubs worldwide, which is something most other clubs really don’t off er and

something we believe sets us apart from our competitors,” Brett continued. The two-day conference saw the attendees hear from guest speakers with inspirational stories. They also attended workshops held by experts in exploring social media opportunities, understanding the psychology around member satisfaction, and helping everyone make work a fun place to be. The conference closed with franchisees and club staff being recognised for their outstanding performance at an awards dinner. Amongst the attendees were members of clubs who had inspirational stories of achieving personal goals, partaking in charity work and showing commitment to the community. Throughout the conference attendees lived true to the brand and their credo of ‘bleeding purple’, and it was very apparent to see that you don’t need to be a gym bunny nor a highly worked businessperson to be part of the success. A stand-out ‘takeaway’ from the

conference is that 97 per cent of the existing franchisees do not have any industry experience – so if it’s a brand with a simple and easy model to follow that you’re looking for and you have £110,000 liquid capital to invest – then there is no better time to join the Anytime Fitness family and get your bank balance to a healthier place.
