What advice would you give to someone thinking of buying their fi rst franchise?


Choose an industry that has longevity and is growing. The healthcare decontamination sector has seen rapid growth in recent years. Challenges faced by healthcare providers are only set to continue as they struggle to cope with the increasing threat from infections such as MRSA, C.Diffi cile or Norovirus.

What does being a Bio-Rite franchisee entail?


Successful Bio-Rite franchisees will be self-employed, running their own business off ering Bio-Rite’s decontamination and infection control services to various organisations including the NHS, local authorities and care homes. Franchisees will be dealing with clients and running a business on a daily basis.


What makes Bio-Rite diff erent? As a group, Bio-Rite has more than 40 years’ experience in infection control. As well as area decontamination, it provides equipment recycling which enables beds and mobility apparatus to be decontaminated safely and eff ectively. The franchise also supplies a mattress decontamination service that meets the needs of NHS hospitals, private clinics and nursing homes and complies with all infection control guidelines.


Do you need previous experience? No experience in the healthcare sector is required, as full training and help with set-up will be provided. The franchise could be suitable for anyone with a broad background in business and who is determined, prepared to work hard and has the enthusiasm to succeed.


What support do franchisees receive? Full training and help with set up as well as ongoing support. Bio-Rite also off ers a franchise set-up package, which covers the purchase of the necessary equipment and machinery, premises fi t-out, signage, furniture, IT equipment, stationery, vehicle deposit and livery, and an initial marketing launch campaign.


Is there room for more franchisees? Bio-Rite is currently recruiting franchisees across the UK.


What sort of person do you think a Bio-Rite franchise would suit? The business believes that candidates who will become successful Bio-Rite franchisees should be self-motivated and get on well with people. Ideally they will have management and sales experience. However, as full training and help with


is affi liated to the British Franchise Association (bfa). Bio-Rite has recently been accepted as a Provisional bfa member. This required rigorous accreditation of the company’s history and standards, plus detailed documentation to demonstrate Bio-Rite has its franchisees best interests at heart. The business had to adhere to the bfa’s code of ethics in franchising.


What are your plans for the future? For the past year, from its ISO9001- accredited facility and offi ces in Alton, Hampshire, Bio-Rite has been meticulously preparing to expand and replicate its established business model through franchising.


The business is now looking to off er suitable candidates the chance to become Bio-Rite franchisees, running their own successful franchised businesses. Bio-Rite has recently attended both the British & International Franchise Exhibition at Olympia and the British Franchise Exhibition at EventCity, and the interest so far has exceeded expectations. People immediately recognise this is a genuine business opportunity.
