t’s a question frequently asked by would-be franchisees wondering exactly how franchising works, and how one-sided the franchisor/ franchisee relationship may prove to be when they want to move on. Writer Stephen Covey, sets out a philosophy for success in life and in business in his book The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People. His mantra being: “Begin with the end in mind.” In other words, build your business day-by-day but with the end goal in mind. Potential franchisees should follow this mantra when investing in a franchise. Consider the sale of your franchise before you buy it.
