The aforementioned Barclays was implementing the funds


control component within a project running in the second half of 2010 and into 2011. This was one of a number of initiatives within a bank-wide transformation. One other component is Fundtech’s Global PayPlus and a new internet portal. The solution for Barclays includes payment orchestration


across credit limits and accounting systems to obtain real- time account balances and limits. The solution includes configurable process definition; rule-based workflow for orchestrating the payments; priority processing and SLA management; workflow and referral processing; multi-level authorisation; retrial and repair of payment transactions; alerts and notifications to operational users; enquiries and MI reports; a dashboard to display real-time STP status; and audit trail reports. There are only two known users of the card system. The first non-Citibank taker was India-based Canara Bank, which has been using the system since 2004 to manage its card business via the branches. The bank has more than 2000 branches and around 5000 ATMs. It has nearly five million debit cards and 300,000 credit cards. Canara runs the card system on Sun Solaris. The other user, the first non-Indian, is Wal-Mart for issuing and acquiring in Chile. The original taker was a domestic retailer, BNS Presto, signing in 2006 and with go-live in June 2008. BNS Presto was subsequently acquired by Wal-Mart. BNS Presto moved from a hosted local solution, with transaction- based pricing, and adopted the Polaris platform to support the Bankcard credit card. There was a lot of customisation for this customer and market, with the project running for around 18 months. Wal-Mart Chile supports 13 different lines, such as electronic goods and automobile purchases, and runs multiple simultaneous promotions. Wal-Mart runs the system

Malaysia-based Hong Leong Bank Berhad (HLBB) overhauled its wholesale banking business with the implementation of a new system, iGTB, from Intellect Design Arena. iGTB looked to bring the corporate and SME banking offerings of HLBB into the digital, real-time environment. It supports customers’ domestic and international activities. The bank implemented the omnichannel component of iGTB at the front-end, as well as processing modules for cash and liquidity management, domestic and foreign payments, trade finance and supply chain financing. iGTB also enabled straight-through processing (STP) between HLBB and payment gateways (both domestic and international) and host-to-host integration with its clients’ GL/back office systems. IDFC Bank, a subsidiary of India’s Infrastructure Development Finance Company (IDFC), implemented Intellect Design Arena’s Global Transaction Banking (iGTB) suite in early 2016. The iGTB platform runs alongside Misys’ software for trade finance and TCS Financial Solutions’ Bancs core banking system. IDFC Bank runs iGTB for a full range of transaction banking operations including payments, cash management, corporate banking and liquidity sweeps. In September 2016, iGTB announced that its Canadian client, CIBC had gone live with the implementation of the first phase of Igtb payments hub. In October 2017, iGTB won a deal at Bangkok Bank to


implement a new cash management platform and corporate portal. The project involves integration of seperate platforms to provide a consistent user experience to bank’s clients. The solution also provides back-end processing of transactions, risk management and reporting.
