'I think that the success factor was that the people from I-flex/Oracle FSS remained here on site. This was necessary. We had assured ways to solve the different issues,' observed Spiegel.
A second release went live in November 2006 for additional products including EC cards and credit cards, without any problems. Feedback from the staff was positive, largely due to the length of time staff had to get to know the system before it went live. 'We had quite an extensive testing phase with a lot of experience of the system, and it was implemented in the way we wanted to see in the end, so the feedback was quite positive,' said Strobel.
Overall, the bank seemed pleased with its decision. As Strobel commented: 'We are reasonably happy.
Of course it's not been easy all the way, but nevertheless we have a partnership with I-flex [Oracle FSS] and the Flexcube system which will help us to realise our targets of optimising cost/income ratios, of improved product offerings and minimised implementation cycles. So I guess we made the right choice a few years ago and we're quite happy with what we have implemented so far.'
