The International Association of Gaming Advisors heads to NYC
Finance. Art. Fashion. Entertainment. As one of the world’s most dynamic and diverse cities, New York City is the epicenter of so many trends, and just like New York, the global gaming industry is multi-faceted and trendsetting, with products and services that have come a long way since the first bricks and mortar casinos began offering traditional table games.
“Our 2017 program agenda focuses on critical issues facing gaming, with the discussions benefitting from the deep experience of our international panelists. As gaming continues to expand globally, staying abreast of critical issues like the latest anti-money laundering and financial crime prevention initiatives or the challenges faced by operators when evaluating player data and data privacy protections is critical to operating successfully in our diverse and changing industry.”
Today, gaming is constantly redefining itself as modern entertainment with cutting edge products laser-focused on the desires and demands of its fluid customer base, and these advancements, along with the challenges and opportunities they create, is the focus of the upcoming 2017 IAGA International Gaming Summit at the JW Marriott Essex House in New York City May 30 – June 1.
Now in its 36th year, the Summit has changed dramatically since it was first held in Monte Carlo in 1985, just a few short years after several Nevada attorneys known for their expertise in gaming law created an association to unite casino professionals and facilitate more productive negotiations between operators, regulators and legislators. Hoping to promote education among executives that would protect and enhance the industry’s professionalism and success, these six attorneys—Robert Faiss, Lyle Rivera, A.J. “Bud” Hicks, Frank Fahrenkopf, Shannon Bybee and Mike Sloan—founded the National Association of Gaming Attorneys (NAGA) and appointed Lyle Rivera as NAGA’s first president. Renamed the International Association of Gaming Advisors in 2007 to reflect the group’s global membership of representatives from all gaming industry segments, IAGA’s annual Summit draws delegates from the four corners of the world who actively participate in interactive discussions about a wide range of relevant issues.
