Te Casino JOA in Montrond-les-Bains has launched its latest innovation, Le Bar des Sports, as part of an on-going strategy to appeal to younger players

AUSTRIA –Crane Payment Innovations has signed a long-term preferred partnership agreement with WINWIN to specify the SC Advance note acceptor in all its video lottery terminals (VLTs) across Austria. This agreement deepens an already strong partnership that dates back to 2011, when WINWIN began specifying the legacy CASHFLOW SC note acceptor from CPI.

WINWIN is the VLT operator of Casinos Austria and the Austrian Lottery (Österreichische Lotterien). The company, which currently operates 16 VLT outlets across four Austrian states (Lower Austria, Upper Austria, Salzburg and Tirol), has created a new gaming concept in the country by prioritizing the player experience. Gaming takes place in a relaxed atmosphere, with integrated cafés and bars, and great care has been taken to ensure the technology – straight down to the components of the machines – can’t be beat. This includes the note acceptors.

The player experience is proven to soar when note acceptors perform each and every time. That is why WINWIN first turned to CASHFLOW SC note acceptors so many years ago and why they are now specifying its successor, SC Advance, today.

Management at WINWIN explained that player satisfaction has risen even further since changing to SC Advance, which they said provides “a perfect and seamless interface between the player and VLT itself. It accepts everything it should – on the first time – with zero acceptance of any frauds. And the machines seem to run forever.”

SC Advance is known for its powerful performance capabilities. It offers the best first-pass acceptance rate for street-grade banknotes in the industry, so players can be confident to use even the well-worn notes they carry in their wallets. “SC Advance has proved itself so well, that we are now working to upgrade our entire field base,” said WINWIN management. “The cost savings are really going to add up, too, because we’ll soon only have one product to maintain, train our people on and stock inventory for. We are very pleased that SC Advance will be our standard note acceptor from now on.”

“WINWIN is an extremely professional company that demands the highest quality for its customers. Their decision to have only SC Advance in all their slots is a true testimony to its product performance and quality”, stated Anette Jauch, CPI sales director – EMEA Gaming. “WINWIN has pledged their long- term allegiance with us by signing the Preferred Supplier Agreement, and we are committed to returning their gesture with the outstanding customer service and product performance they expect and deserve.”

Bratislava to close down 305 gambling venues

Slovakia

Politicians in the Slovakian city of Bratislava have implemented new legislation to ban all forms of gambling from the capital except sports betting, forcing 305 venues to one day shut down.

City council members approved laws that will refuse licence applications from existing casinos meaning that once their existing licences run out they will have to close down. Te city has 305 casinos, slot halls and bingo halls. Te legislation follows a vote back in February where councillors made their feelings known but failed to pass any new laws.

Bratislava Mayor Ivo Nesrovnal said the ban would be

For any registration on JOA.FR, the JOA Club offers up to €250 to play online and in casino. Te first bet is refunded and once €50 deposited and bet on JOA.FR, JOA offers the customer a meal for two people and €50 of chips to play in casino. Claude Giraud, Mayor of Montrond-les- Bains, welcomed the opening of the Sports Bar: "Since the inauguration of the JOA Casino in 2012, our city has a real leisure center, bowling, arcade games, a quality restaurant, an event space . Tis new innovation enhances the attractiveness of the city. It will enable us to perpetuate the operation of the casino and strengthen the remarkable partnership with the JOA Group."

Located in the heart of the spa resort, the Casino de Montrond-les-Bains is a true leisure complex of 4,400 m² with 225 slot machines with the possibility of playing outdoors in a tree-lined patio, 41 electronic terminals as well as live tables of blackjack, roulette and poker, alongside bowling, arcade games, a brewery, restaurant, a dancefloor and seminar rooms.

introduced in May but won’t see gambling banned completely for another four years. Tat is when the city’s last casino licence, granted to the Banco Casino in the Crowne Plaza hotel, will run out. It will lose nearly €3m a year in gambling tax.

Mayor Nesrovnal said: “We will replace the drop in revenues. Tis was not a vote about money but about values. It will not work in such a way that we will wake up tomorrow and all the gambling venues will be closed but we finally have an instrument to begin pushing them away.”

Te Entertainment and Games Association (AZaH) has slammed the move as being illegal and said it would challenge it in court, warning that as a result of the land- based ban both online gambling revenues and illegal gambling will increase.
