Pre-School Day Camp Sports Camps Specialty Camps

Together with Special Recreation Ser- vices of Northern Lake County, the Round Lake Area Park District offers inclusive opportunities for

individuals

with disabilities to participate in the same programs and activities as their

peers. Reasonable accommodations are provided to enable an individual’s successful participation in a program. New for Summer Camp 2017, SRSNLC will be combining camps with Summer Trails (Hart Woods and Sports Center locations) and Teen Camp to provide inclusive opportunities for camp- ers that may need additional assistance and may benefit from a higher staff ratio while still being able to participate within those camps. If you are interested in registering your child for either Summer Trails or Teen Camp and they would require assistance from an inclusion companion, your child will need to register for the SRSNLC group. This group is designed to provide a higher staff to camp ratio and will participate in all camp activities, swimming, field trips, etc. but will have the flexibility to have additional staff on hand to accommodate special needs. Should you have any questions, or feel that your child will not be able to function in a camp group with a 1:4 staff to camper ratio, staff will be available to share other possible options. Additional options may include registration in our Camp North Shore Summer Camp, providing your own inclusion companion or a variety of other possibilities.

Scholarship Program The Friends of the Round Lake Area Parks Foundation have a day camp scholarship program available for residents 6-21 years of age. Scholarships will be awarded based on financial need and the availability of camp scholarship funds at that time. Information and an application can be found on p. 84. For addi- tional questions, please contact Ross Bertone at 847-546-8558.
