Safe Sitter Safe Sitter®
teaches young teens everything they need to know
to be safe when they’re home alone, watching younger siblings, or babysitting. Students learn life-saving skills such as how to rescue someone who’s choking, and helpful information like what to do if there’s severe weather. The lessons are filled with fun activities and role-playing exercises. Students even get to use CPR manikins to practice CPR or choking rescue! Min/Max: 4/8. PD Contact: Megan Kile.

Yoga Kids! Yoga boosts self confidence in kids of all ages. It promotes healthy living and longevity. In this class, kids will have the op- portunity to have fun and be themselves! In this non-judgment zone, we’ll practice the 8 yogic principles (limbs) and learn sever- al poses and sequences. Kids will learn breathing techniques to help them in times of uncertainty and stress. The group dynamic will brighten social skills and encourage teamwork. Yoga will help kids stretch, moving oxygen into their bodies while strengthening the muscles required for day to day activities. As with all yoga, it will help kids lead a more joyful and mindful life. Min/Max: 5/10. PD Contact: Margaret Kissner.

Chess Scholars Have fun learning the royal game of chess! Chess Scholars’ train- ing program is based on their unique ‘Chess Belts’®
a gradual step-by-step increase in the difficulty of material. This system enables us to quickly teach children the rules of chess, enhance their understanding of the game, as well as take them to a higher chess skill level. The Chess Scholars program is de- signed for children to maintain a delicate balance between learn- ing and fun. Min/Max: 6/15. PD Contact: Michelle Whaples.

Apprentice/Master Electronic Game Design
During the Electron Game Design: Platform classes, students will use Multimedia Fusion 2®
to create their own video game. A plat-
form game is a side-scrolling, Mario-type game where students program characters and a two-dimensional obstacle course. They attempt to avoid or overcome enemies and reach an end goal on multiple levels. At the end of the class, students take home an electronic copy of the game they create. Min/Max: 5/24.
