SRSNLC - Round Lake 2071 N. Orchard Lane, RLB (847) 740-9823

Contact Jessica Jeffery-Findley or Jenny Simpson for more information.

The Focus is on FUN

We operate out of the Round Lake Area Park District where we offer a variety of activities, Special Olympics sports, camps, trips, socials, outdoor programs, after school programs and special events. It is our goal to provide a safe haven for learning, making new friends, experiencing new things and enjoying all that is offered through our programs.

A Safe Haven for Self Expression & Growth

Involvement in recreation, planned and manned by our qual- ified staff, provides an opportunity for participants to experi- ence new activities, gain varied skills and improve socializa- tion. We also offer inclusion programs, where many students with special needs are successfully learning and recreating in the same programs with their friends from their schools and neighborhoods.

Inclusion Opportunities Through SRSNLC

SRSNLC understands that not every person with a disabil- ity requires SRSNLC services. The Round Lake Area Park District invites people of all ages with disabilities to partic- ipate in programs throughout this brochure. SRSNLC and the Round Lake Area Park District will work cooperatively to assist any resident who wishes to participate in a park district program. The park district will make reasonable accommo- dations and will work with the registrant, his/her family and others to ensure a safe and enjoyable leisure experience. If you are interested in participating in a park district program, please contact the SRSNLC-Round Lake office so we can support your participation through observations, in-service or staff training, providing community leisure resources or the assistance of volunteers or “Leisure Buddies.” Contact Jessica Jeffery-Findley for a Needs Assessment Interview at 847-740-9828.

Special Recreation for People with Special Needs

Special Recreation Services of Northern Lake County (SRSNLC) is an extension of four member park districts, Round Lake, Zion, Waukegan and Lindenhurst, that joined together to combine funds, facili- ties and resources to provide a wide range of recreation programs for individuals of all ages with special needs.

Our Special Recreation brochure fea-
