Executive Director’s Letter
Dear Round Lake Area Park District Residents: I’m always excited for spring to make its appearance after the cold, dreary days of winter. Each day brings a little more sunshine and the grass slowly gets greener. This season is all about regeneration and re-creation, and that’s similar to what we’ve been doing at the park district, as well.
Our recreation staff has been busy developing many new and exciting programs for the entire family. In addition, they’ve made sure to bring back some well-known favorites, including the 3rd Annual Egg Scramble on April 1st; Mr. Rabbit’s Spring Fling on April 7th; and the 5th Annual Family Fishing Event on May 20th.
Looking forward to sunnier days, I should tell you it’s a great time to save money on a pool pass. Early Bird Rates are in effect until March 31st, so stop in and purchase one today. Memorial Day Weekend will be here before you know it.
We have been receiving a lot of positive feedback on the re-design of our program guide. Please be aware that all camp pages have been integrated into this guide. Gone are the days of a separate spring and camp guide. It’s all right here. But don’t worry, the summer guide will also include camp offerings.
I hope you’ll take some time to browse through these pages and take advantage of the many new programs we have to offer. Or better yet come and take a walk on our trails or visit our playgrounds with the young people in your life.

The Park District Board of Commissioners typically meet the sec- ond Thursday of each month; occasionally the fourth Thursday as well. Meetings are held at 6:00 p.m. at the Robert W. Rolek Community Center, 814 Hart Road, Round Lake. Call us at 847- 546-8558 for a meeting schedule.
