Chicago Flower & Garden Show The roots of the Chicago Flower & Garden Show can be traced back as far as 1847. When it first began, the show was a flow- er and fruit exposition presented by the Chicago Horticultural Society (CHS). Similar to today, the events were organized by like-minded gardeners who were looking for a way to trade hor- ticulture tips and techniques among exhibitors and participants. Transportation will be provided from the Robert W. Rolek Com- munity Center to Navy Pier in Chicago and back. We will depart at approximately 10:00 am and return by 6:00pm. The trip re- quires good walking shoes. Please bring extra money for lunch and souvenirs. Min/Max: 15/23. PD Contact: Marianne Heinze.

Getting outdoors and connecting with nature at any age can have many positive effects on our health. The Harvard School of Health has conducted several research studies over many decades which have shown access to parks and recreation and exposure to nature provide enjoyment, energy, vitality, and self-esteem; reduce stress and improve mood; can increase intracellular anti-cancer proteins; and help prevent and mitigate diseas- es like dementia, diabetes, stroke, heart disease, high blood pressure, and osteoporosis.

Seniors All Aboard This relaxing and scenic trip will take you around the waters of Round Lake, with a guide showing you points of in- terest as well as some historical notes of this natural gem!
