Famous Indonesian Singer will perform at ABU Radio Song Festival in May


Republik Indonesia (RRI) in the context of Jakarta hosting the ABU General Assembly and its Associated Meetings in 2016.

The ABU Secretary- General, Dr Javad Mottaghi visited RRI, in Jakarta last February and met with Ms Rosarita Niken Widiastuti , the President Director of RRI who is also a famous Indonesian singer and her colleagues. The meeting focused on matters related to the ABU General Assembly scheduled in Indonesia in 2016 and also on other activities of the Union.

RRI will nominate a singer to participate at Radio Song Festival (RSF) in Myanmar in May. Mrs Niken agreed to perform herself as a “Guest Singer” at the festival. She also gave her consent to speak at one of the sessions in the coming Bucharest conference.


RRI will send a big delegation to the ABU GA in Istanbul next October and preparation for the 2016 assembly is progressing well. RRI agreed to invite one of the Indonesia’s TV Stations to handle the ABU TV Song Festival in Jakarta during the 2016 GA and will choose a separate location for the ABU Prizes.


RRI will be hosting a World Broadcasting Union Conference on 26 October 2016 after the ABU General Assembly.


ABU Secretary General also paid a visit to TVRI which is the host for 2018 Asian Games. The Union is fully supporting TVRI and other ABU members in Jakarta to offer the best quality coverage of the Games.


Dr Javad Mottaghi discussed about future partnership between ABU and TVRI. Mr Adam Bachtiar, Business & Development Director together with senior colleagues from TVRI and National Olympic of Indonesia attended this meeting.
