of the 5th series is “Road to School: The Future”. The host organisation went back to KBS, Korea, which initiated this CARE series and Mr. Lee Gunhyub from KBS, who was the first Executive Producer (EP) of this project, assumed the role of EP again for this series after four years. Fifteen organisations, including three new comers, took part in this series.

During the three-day meeting participating producers showed their story ideas for this series and exchanged their views and thoughts. Mr. Lee, the Executive Producer, said: “I am happy that this time we have such a variety of story ideas reflecting the diversity of our region.” Participating organisations were: BBS (Bhutan), CCTV (China), FBC (Fiji), Metro TV (Indonesia), PBC KR (Kyrgyzstan), NTV (Nepal), PBC (Palestine), Phoenix TV (Hong Kong), RTHK (Hong Kong), RTM (Malaysia), SLRC (Sri Lanka), TRT (Turkey), VTV (Vietnam) and IRIB (Iran).

Clarence Dass of FBC-Fiji expressed his satisfaction of having been present in the workshop: “I was glad to represent FBC TV at the Care 5 workshop in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. It was my first time attending a Care 5 event and I found the opportunity to share and polish ideas with fellow Television producers from the Asia Pacific Region both educational and refreshing. It was Educational because it gave us a chance to discuss ideas under the guidance of Mr Lee from KBS, who through his knowledge and skillful teaching allowed me to view my own project under a fresh new light.”
The Fijian participant went on to say that it was also very interesting to meet likeminded individuals in his field and gain insight into how they do Television production with their own broadcasters.
Media 2020 – Bringing Media to the Future

minent media professionals of Asia and Europe will meet in the Romanian capital, Bucharest
from 30 June to 1 July 2015 for a high- level conference which will focus on how media and specially the radio industry will evolve during the next five years.

underway in the media industry and what will be the next future challenges. Today broadcasting is shifting more and more towards diverse platforms. Radio and TV content could be accessed through mobile phones, tablets, Internet and, as a matter of fact, content creators have to maintain their market lead and preserve their audiences. This constitutes a huge challenge for the media industry.
The Bucharest conference organised for the first time by ABU and Radio
Romania will enable participants to analyse and foresee the development of their respective media industry.
The one and a half day conference will consist of various sessions with a diverse range of topics already identified to the satisfaction of participants. These include: Media landscape of 2020 – Trends in Media Development; Engaging 2020 Radio Audiences through Good Music; Radio Drama; Looking at UHDTV Production in 2020 and Media For Children.
