ABU Technology Director, Dr Amal Punchihewa said that the decision to hold this 5-day workshop was taken by the ABU Technical Bureau in 2013 and he is happy that such initiative became a reality just in one year. Young engineers were trained on audio and video systems, engineering techniques and applications. This course will also help veteran engineers to refresh themselves, especially concerning new technologies.
The training course will be organised annually preferably during the month of December. Human capacity building is a priority for the ABU and the Union is ready to offer such services in any member country.

ABU will assist BTV Bangladesh in Digitalisation

BU will assist two of its members in Bangladesh in their efforts to Digitalise their services. Information Minister Hasanul Haq Inu, in a meeting with Asia-Pacific
Broadcasting Union-ABU Secretary General Dr Javad Mottaghi in December confirmed that a task force would be formed soon and a roadmap finalised.
A roadmap would be finalised in a bid to digitalise broadcasting activities of Bangladesh Television and Bangladesh Betar. ABU will extend necessary technology and technical aid in line with that road map.
