56th ABU Sports Group Conference & Associated Meetings 2015

he mid-year ABU Sports Group Conference and associated meetings will take place in
Beijing, the People’s Republic of China, from 7 to 9 May 2015. The China Central Television, CCTV will host the 56th Meeting. The conference will be held at the Kerry Hotel, located in the heart of Beijing.
The conference this year will feature several discussions and presentations on issues and concerns facing broadcasters in Asia and the Pacific. It will bring together players from different areas- broadcasters, federations and sponsors. The ABU Sports Department has an exciting, yet challenging agenda, which will undoubtedly satisfy all participants.
The ABU Sports Director, Yanjiang Cai said that the Beijing conference will feature extensive discussions on the ABU Sports plans and strategies in the interest of all members and the objective is to remain relevant and competitive in a fragmented media market. He added that with soaring rights fee, it’s time to ponder over how to do business as usual and yet be able to bring the sporting events to the audiences without compromise.
The Beijing conference will also focus on how to fully utilise New Media and to discuss about Piracy and Copyright issues which are affecting some of our members.
