Francisco J. Rivera Juaristi is co- Director of Santa Clara University School of Law’s “Human Rights in the Americas” Summer Abroad Program in Costa Rica, and Director of the law school’s International Hu- man Rights Clinic. He is also a for- mer Senior Attorney and Internship Program Coordinator at the Inter- American Court of Human Rights.

Laura Shoaps is a recent graduate of Lewis & Clark Law School, where she graduated cum laude. She is currently a law fellow at the Inter- national Justice Resource Center in San Francisco. Prior to graduating, Laura also worked with the National Crime Victim Law Institute, Global Freedom Center, and Human Rights Law Network.


Matthew Toyama is a May 2014 graduate of Santa Clara University, School of Law as a Public Interna- tional Law Scholar with Honors. He has published an article with the Indonesian Journal of International and Comparative Law on the scope of Alien Tort Statute litigation in U.S. federal courts in light of the April 2013 Supreme Court decision Kiobel v. Royal Dutch Petroleum. Prior to at- tending law school, Matthew was a freelance writer for the Los Angeles Fire Department’s in house maga- zine “The Grapevine” and English teacher in South Korea.


Paige Coriden is a third-year law student at the University of Denver Sturm College of Law, where she is Vice President of the International Law Students Association and for-


mer President of the International Law Society. Currently, she works as an Evidence Research Assistant and a Torts Teaching Assistant. She will participate in the 2014 Law- Meets National Transactional Moot Court and will join Holland & Hart’s corporate practice as a first-year as- sociate in the fall of 2015.


Christopher L. Bauer is a second- year law student at the West Virginia University College of Law. While at the College of Law, he interned for Chief Judge McGee of the North Carolina Court of Appeals and com- pleted a summer associate position for Roberts & Stevens. In addition, he serves as an Associate Editor of the West Virginia Law Review.


Justin Kohlbeck is a third-year law student at the University of Kan- sas School of Law, and is currently enrolled as a visiting student at the University of Texas School of Law. At the University of Kansas, Justin is also working on his master’s degree (MA) in East Asian Languages and Cultures with a Korean language and culture focus. He has worked as a le- gal intern for the US Department of Agriculture Office of General Coun- sel in Kansas City, Missouri.


Iuliana-Raluca Luca is a graduate of the L.L.B. at the University of Bu- charest and a first-year student at the Master in International and Com- parative Law, at the University of Helsinki, Faculty of Law. She is CIO for the Romanian ILSA Chapter. She interned for the Romanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and worked as an


intern at the Foundation for Defence of Citizens Against State Abuse, Ro- mania.


Cana Noel is a second-year law stu- dent at Temple University Beasley School of Law. She is also a dual degree candidate for the Masters in Public Health with a concentration in Health Policy Management and Global Health. She has interned for the Pennsylvania Health Law Project and is currently serving as the presi- dent of the Temple International Law Society.


Sanya Samtani is a fifth-year law student at NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad. She is a teaching assistant for the public international law course offered to year three stu- dents at NALSAR. She is the senior editor of NALSAR’s flagship journal, the NALSAR Student Law Review. Her experiences include interning with the Ministry of External Affairs, Legal and Treaties Division, and work- ing with the Centre for Internet and Society on pervasive technologies.


Stephen Steele is a third-year law student at the University of Arizona James E. Rogers School of Law. While at Arizona, he has clerked at Southern Arizona Legal Aid and was a summer legal research clerk at the National Law Center for Inter-Amer- ican Free Trade. He is a member of the Morris K. Udall Inn of Court and currently is clerking at the Tucson firm of Slutes, Sakrison & Rogers.
