Intellectual property issues transcend countries borders and are cross-disciplinary in nature. China, the 2nd largest economy of the world, is becoming an innovative power. JMLS’s 2015 China IP Summer Program continues its long-standing focus on the growing role of Chinese IP laws with classes focus on international intellectual property and comparative law topics.
Mississippi College School of Law offers its Asia Summer Legal Studies Program each summer in Beijing, China and Seoul, South Korea. The group will spend 11 days in Beijing participating in classes and touring before moving to Seoul for two weeks on the campus of Sookmyung University.
The Summer Program at the University of International Business and Economics Law School provides an ideal setting for the programs international and comparative law focus. Courses are taught by Brooklyn and Loyola faculty, with lectures by prominent Chinese legal scholars and lawyers. Stu- dents completing the program will receive one to three ABA-approved credits.
Students gain an understanding of the Chinese legal system, domestic and foreign economic laws of the PRC, and the role of Chinese and foreign lawyers in the PRC through three weeks of coursework in which all major areas of Chinese substantive law are covered. Students receive 5 ABA-ap- proved credits. Optional two-week internship for one additional credit is available.
