Small House, Cavendish Avenue, Cambridge. Designed by Mole Architects, this innovative passive solar house has been constructed from pre-fabricated structural timber sheets. The front elevation is clad in a semi-reflective patterned glass rainscreen, whilst the rear elevation has large openings to the sun and the garden, with external sunscreening. There has already been considerable interest in this bold modern design; as it has achieved ''Passivhaus’’ standard in its energy requirements. Its levels of wall and roof insulation are three times more than current building regulations require, with a U-value of just 0.13w/m2

Gillespie Yunnie Architects have worked closely with Urban Splash to create innovative, viable solutions within the constraints imposed by this Grade l listed building The apartments are clustered around central atrium spaces, the living spaces are clean and contemporary embracing the massive granite and limestone walls, exposed timber roof beams and arched windows.


Affordable Housing Development of the Year, 63- 65 Station Grove Developed by the Network Housing Group and designed by Proctor and Matthews architects, this simple four storey linear terrace of apartments creates a street edge relationship that follows the 19th century and early 20th century urban morphology of the surrounding neighbourhoods providing a clear hierarchy of public and private realm space and street continuity.


Interior Design, The Grand Terrace, Richmond Lock Interior Designers Hill House Interiors have been awarded the


prestigious British Homes Awards; this award is sponsored by BIID (British Institute of Interior Design). The interiors of the three show houses on the Octagon’s Developments at Richmond Lock demonstrate the flexible living space of these spacious townhouses, contrasting the classical exterior with a contemporary theme.
