With a range of shading materials, which includes black-out if necessary but otherwise, with light transmissions (Tv) from 1 to 10% we have a blind fabric that will suit your premises’ requirements for light control. Within the same range we have materials with solar reflectance’s (Rs)

T

of over 70%, ideal for reflecting the solar energy (including the visible light) back out and reducing heat gain. (Did you know that direct sunlight can ‘throw’ 100,000 + Lux at your

window, this being the equivalent to nearly 14 Kw per Msq?) With over 25 years of experience you could just take our word for it, but just in case, we have commissioned a series of laboratory reports and calculations that confirm our materials reflectances and transmissions

Deva Finds Eco Credentials Top of Wish List

Research conducted by Deva earlier this year has shown that environmental credentials are top of consumers’ wish list when choosing a new shower. More than 4,000 consumers took part in Deva’s research, which asked when choosing a new shower is it looks, price or environmental credentials that is most important. Most (45%) said environmental credentials are the most important factor, closely followed by looks (36%) and then price (17%). Only two per cent of those surveyed were unsure which aspect of a new shower purchase is most important. The award winning Satinjet™

he world has moved on over the years, have the blinds in your office? Or the way you think about them? Do you still believe blackout blinds are the only way to stop glare and dazzle, at the total loss of external view and free natural day lighting? Let us show you another way.

and their performances with standard glazing to the very latest European standards (EN 14501, EN 13363-1, EN 13363-2 & EN 673). (Did you know that an internal window blind can improve the insulation of a single glazed window from a ‘U value’ of 5.7 to 3.7?) Along with the shading fabrics and the experience, we have specialised

hardware systems that accommodate rectangular windows, shaped windows, vertical windows, horizontal windows (a.k.a. roof lights) and windows inclined anywhere in between. Manually operated in many cases historically, motorisation is becoming

increasingly popular as automation and linking to climate sensors and building management systems becomes more affordable and justifiable. Would you like to consider improving comfort levels in your existing

premises, or are you looking at a new project? Why not give us a call, at least request a sample laboratory report which with the accompanying fabric samples proves ‘The Science of Solar Shading’.

Vertical Thermostatic Shower Range Expands range cuts water and energy use by up to 40% with every

Deva is adding to its range of vertical thermostatic showers with the launch of the sleek and stylish COMPVBS9000 bar shower and slide rail kit, available in chrome. Sleek and contemporary in design, the COMP VBS9000 guarantees safe, stylish showering for every bathroom. The thermostatic control ensures a safe water temperature, while the individual control for flow and temperature delivers optimum comfort and performance. The minimalist single mode handset uses a generous 1.5 metre hose allowing for flexible height adjustment, which is controlled with a swift and smooth lever action slider. Suitable for use with combination boilers and even unbalanced water pressures, the COMP VBS9000 requires a minimum pressure of 1.0bar for optimum performance and features one of the best guarantees currently available – five years on parts. Deva’s HSR flow regulators can be fitted in the hose of the shower to reduce water flow to as low as two litres per minute. ...searchable archive at www.buildingconstructiondesign.eu Tel: 0870 848 8400 www.deva.org.uk

New Mould Inhibiting Finish in Crown Trade Steracryl Range

As part of the development of its Steracryl health and hygiene range of coatings, Crown Trade has launched an additional hardwearing mould inhibiting finish specially formulated for use in challenging interiors subject to condensation, poor ventilation and associated problems with mould growth. Crown Trade’s well established Steracryl Mould Inhibiting Matt is the most widely specified mould inhibiting decorative coating in the UK. It has many applications in the commercial market and is also used extensively across the social housing sector, particularly where kitchens and bathrooms need to be brought up to Decent Homes standards, and in ‘voids’ which may be without adequate heat and ventilation for long periods of time.

This summer Crown Trade has launched Steracryl Durable Acrylic Eggshell to give decorators, customers and social housing providers an additional decorative finish to select from. Suitable for use on broadwall areas and wooden trim, this new highly durable, washable coating with a subtle sheen is available in a White and Pastel colour range in a 5 litre pack size. Both Steracryl Mould Inhibiting products contain fungicide which maintains decorated surfaces by inhibiting the development of mould growth on the paint film. Fungal testing has been carried out to British Standard test procedure BS3900:G6. Crown Trade Brand Manager Debbie Orr said: “Mould growth is a serious problem which doesn’t just look unsightly on interior walls and ceilings. If left unchecked, it can lead to respiratory problems for those who have to live with it. By preventing the spread of the spores, these two Steracryl coatings improve aesthetic appearances and also help to create a healthier environment.” Other additions to the Crown Trade Steracryl range include two new anti bacterial coatings targeted primarily at the healthcare and food preparation sectors. ...searchable archive at www.buildingconstructiondesign.eu
