Vernon Hills, IL — Fuji Machine Mfg. Co., Ltd. is introducing three solutions for improving NXT III pro- ductivity even more with the latest NXT III-related software. First, the software now supports the machine’s productivity priority mode for H24 heads. The cycle time is improved by 8 percent by using the productivity pri- ority mode versus standard mode, for a placing speed of 37,500 cph (up from 35,000 cph) and placing accuracy of {PM}38µm). This speed increase is effective for pro- duction when ultra-small chips are not being placed and/or high-density place- ments are not required. In addition, wide range

nozzles are now supported. By using wide range noz- zles, the nozzle types on the placing head can be reduced, which leads to improved cycle times due to reduced part pickup/placing cycles. It is also possible to place large volume rectangular chip parts at high speed due to the newly designed nozzle shape. The third change is an ad -

vanced optimizer algorithm has been advanced. This can result in im - provements in cycle times of existing jobs just by optimizing them again with the new algorithm. The NXT III mounting platform is the company’s

latest addition to the NXT series, introduced last year, and it offers improved performance in all areas and continues the evolution of a machine which has now sold more than 44,000 modules all over the world, covering every imaginable

production type and volume. When introduced, the NXT III

provided better productivity for all part sizes and types because of a faster XY robot, faster tape feeders, and a recently developed “flying vision” parts camera.
